Effective August 31, 2024, the Innovations in Newborn Screening Interoperability (INBSI) program has ended.

The INBSI Resource Center was established for jurisdictional newborn screening (NBS) programs to learn, collaborate and advance interoperability within the newborn screening community to ultimately aid in the reduction of morbidity and mortality associated with heritable disorders in newborns and children. INBSI members received a host of services including, technical assistance, training, and education on health information data interoperability from real-world subject matter experts at no cost.

We would like to express our thanks to all of the NBS programs and staff who participated in the program, attended our training sessions and helped each other expand and grow together. We encourage everyone to continue to learn more about electronic data sharing and take the opportunity to modernize critical NBS systems and processes. For continued access to the interoperability training resources that INBSI created, please visit the Public Health Interoperability Training Catalog. It contains some great resources from a variety of sources to learn more about electronic data sharing.
